I hate when people outside a given space with zero knowledge of that space decide that their input should be of paramount value to the people living there. Don't really know what else to tell you on that one.

As a programmer myself, I have the most to say about this.

I hate programmers because 99% of them are touch-starved, socially-constipated nerds who think that because they can solve a hard math problem that they are smarter and better than the thousands of years of social development that came before them. And so, they sit there, smugly destroying all of it because they are—and I'm being serious—too stupid to know what they're breaking.

You don't know why you should own a function that composes other functions you didn't write? I'm not even going to give you the answer. Just, see if you can figure out a way that might work.

I'm not even going to give you the answer.

    Thank you for your non-input.

EDIT: As a programmer, I'll even give you the benefit of the doubt here. "Slop" is very akin to "Woke" in that people can't actually define it. So, I'll let you define it. Given AI auto-completed code is AI code still and that it is common practice in software development now across the board, at what percentage AI use is it then slop?

The follow-up to that being how are you playing games? I'm assuming Steam. I'm also assuming that "slop" is going to be defined by you as any non-zero amount. So, regardless what you answer it's going to make you look like a hypocrite (https://www.digitaltoday.co.kr/en/view/47524/valve-prepares-steamgpt-to-boost-steam-operations-and-block-fraud-accounts#1).

I mean... show of hands how many of you are using Steam? Sounds a lot like people complaining about something but not willing to actually do anything that might inconvenience them.

I might be an asshole, but I'm not a hypocrite.

at what percentage AI use is it then slop?

And I'm supposed to explain it to someone who says this ↑?

When does a hill become a mountain? What exact meter elevation.

Slop is gruel. Slop is technically food. Slop is made to feed flocks of people with no concern for taste. Slop is utilitarian, but not satisfying. Slop is cheap, and only cheap; slop has no other enjoyable qualities.

Gen AI is a spam machine. It is built to satisfy uncreative people who want to borrow the social status of being talented. It is a technology for leeches.

Would you now like to argue that hollywood makes movies that are bad sometimes? I await with bated breath.

I might be an asshole, but I'm not a hypocrite.

Hypocrisy is the barrel bottom, laziest form of criticism. It's not even worth responding to.

"You oppose sweat shops? Ah, but you wear clothes. Touché, monsieur."

That's a lot of writing for you to say you're a hypocrite who uses slop. You really can't give it up can you?
