Fortunately, recent history has shown that liberalism is fucked and the people still defending it will spend the rest of either their lives or their time as liberals being pushed into publicly defending more and more absurd, evil and ineffectual positions. Their arrogance will never let them back off of the Victorian finger wagging and demands of obedience that make everyone hate them. We, by circumstance, association, humility and the difficult internal work of deprogramming, are mentally free to embrace and co-author the future. They, by circumstance, association, smug self-satisfaction and the naive incuriosity fostered by lifelong obedience, are doomed to transform into a corncob over and over and over again.

I realized this over four years arguing about Ukraine. Marxist-biased reality will smack these people down harder than you or I ever could, and internalizing that has granted me a great deal of calm in talking to them.
