We should make a flee from the authorities a prerequisite for anyone seeking to hold office. Y'know really get a sense of how well they can handle thinking under pressure, how familiar they are with their jurisdiction, how well they interact with their voters, etc. If nothing else, it would really improve our gerontocracy problem.
