This is gonna piss some people (men) off, I can already tell...

This is an excellent point and I think it demonstrates really well what people mean by "all men"

Even tho I love men as much as the next straight girl...bear for me, please

As a parent, it would depend on if I know the parents and kids, not the sexes. Just saying...

So no, not always a man. Some girls can be pretty mean...

The advantage of the bear is predictability, but dead is dead.

I'd gladly take certain death from the bear than whatever the fuck I'd get from being alone with a male stranger in the woods. And I'm a person that's usually very comfortable with men's company...just with lots of other people around.

Well, there's the real point, isn't it? The random stranger. I don't disagree with it being very heavy to the male side for danger... I just think absolutes aren't realistic and make it seem like there's an underlying given that every man will be dangerous. That's not fair to the ones out there are are the exact opposite.

Sure, absolutes are not realistic. I'm not saying every man is dangerous, but the point is, you can't easily tell a dangerous man from a "good guy" (I fucking hate that term) just by looking. And I'd rather be cautious than to live the rest of my life with heavy trauma.

Let me ask you this. Can you gender swap that? Can you tell a good woman from one who is dangerous? Keeping in mind that danger can be mental as well as physical.

If you say no, then the whole point of the phrase you started with doesn't make sense, and stereotypes men. Again, not saying abuse of any type of acceptable, nor am I saying that most physical abuse isn't from men against women. I just don't think the second part of that phrase that I see everywhere is fair to men who are good persons, protective of women, and hate the abuse just as much.

Saying "it's always a man" also totally ignores the usually mental abuse that lots of men go through with their women partners, and have to bear it silently because saying something makes us lesser in society's eyes.

So I'm not pissed off, but this is probably the fire you were expecting to attract.

Right right, "I know men gang rape, but have you seen women make fun of someone's dress and call her fat to the cool guys she wants to meet?"

See, downplaying the intent. Predictable. This is why men don't talk about shit. Because all men, right.

Can all attacks and abuses be bad, or are we comparing and saying only the worse ones are legit? Jesus, the gatekeeping. This is why mental abuse on any sex is still stigmatized, because it's "not as bad as physical". Fuck that.

    Wah wah

You made a shit point and got called on it. This "help help in being attacked" bullshit, under a post about women being in a precarious and dangerous position, doesn't help your case.

I've stated my opinions throughout, and if you only picked up me trying to defend men from my posts, then that's on your prejudicial viewpoint, not me. This goes both ways.

The fact you'd post that under your own post that made up a strawman to beat me with is laughable.

    Oh god

You're comparing mean girls to gang rape. I'm not wielding a straw man. I'm wielding your rabies-level take. You doubled down on it in your reply to call "all attacks and abuses bad" as a response to rape being bad.

No, you did that. Let's all go back to the quoted text that at that point was still very generalized. You turned it into a competition of "mean girls" being defined as the slumber party fighting vs. gang rape. You set up the argument to win, in a discussion that hadn't even mentioned either.

And you don't agree than all abuse is bad within its scope, not as a ranking? Or is some okay, depending on the victim? Note, I'm asking, I'm not throwing back a strawman. Just clarifying.

I wasn't even trying to make a case about men being abused in all this, but here we go... just saying anything apparently means I'm disgarding the OP subject, which I've ALREADY commented on and agreed with OP's basic intent.

Might as well say, you're a man, you're not allowed to talk about this. Which is exactly how we end up here.

    Unhinged.

Coming into a conversation about rape and saying "all abuse is bad" is some "all lives matter" bullshit.

Saying it so you can equate women who are mean, to the men raping them, is unhinged.

Your "help help I'm being attacked" martyr lines, which you started subtextually with your first post but have since verbalized overtly, are clinical grade.😷

    WTF.

See, this shit is stupid. Now you're embellishing stuff that you said first (in another post, and somehow attributed it to me), and mixing it to imply that the women I was even talking about were BEING RAPED. W T F
