This is gonna piss some people (men) off, I can already tell...

This is an excellent point and I think it demonstrates really well what people mean by "all men"

Even tho I love men as much as the next straight girl...bear for me, please

Sure, absolutes are not realistic. I'm not saying every man is dangerous, but the point is, you can't easily tell a dangerous man from a "good guy" (I fucking hate that term) just by looking. And I'd rather be cautious than to live the rest of my life with heavy trauma.

Let me ask you this. Can you gender swap that? Can you tell a good woman from one who is dangerous? Keeping in mind that danger can be mental as well as physical.

If you say no, then the whole point of the phrase you started with doesn't make sense, and stereotypes men. Again, not saying abuse of any type of acceptable, nor am I saying that most physical abuse isn't from men against women. I just don't think the second part of that phrase that I see everywhere is fair to men who are good persons, protective of women, and hate the abuse just as much.

Saying "it's always a man" also totally ignores the usually mental abuse that lots of men go through with their women partners, and have to bear it silently because saying something makes us lesser in society's eyes.

So I'm not pissed off, but this is probably the fire you were expecting to attract.
