Over the past week, there has been reports that numerous US politicians have received the same mysterious letter.

The characteristics of the letter are as follows:

  • Return address says DSA with an address that Democratic Socialist's of America does not use
  • Post Office mark says San Antonio Texas
  • Several reports say that the letter contains white powder
  • At least one report says that the powder was identified as harmless

I haven't seen the media do real investigating into this incident.

I would like to create an archived list of public statements published by US politicians. For example, if the politician has tweeted or made a press statement about a mysterious letter in the past week. Some have even posted photos of the letter.

There are 435 congress members and 100 senators. If you know of any public statements, please post a link in a comment.

Please share public information only. No private info, gossip, etc.

I ran this through Kimi K3 which in my experience is good at this, it gives me the following:

Archived Public Statements: "Mysterious Letter" / White-Powder Mailings to U.S. Politicians

Compiled: October 21, 2026 Incident window: ~October 13 – October 21, 2026 (ongoing)

Incident summary

  • Letters/envelopes sent to members of Congress (both parties), state election officials, and secretaries of state nationwide, weeks before the Nov. 3, 2026 midterms.
  • Return address lists "DSA" (Democratic Socialists of America) at 75 Maiden Lane, New York City — a defunct DSA address the organization hasn't occupied in over a decade. DSA has denied involvement and condemned the threats.
  • Postmark: San Antonio, Texas (confirmed by multiple recipients, e.g., Moulton, Torres, Al Green, Subramanyam).
  • Contents: white powder in many letters; all tested substances so far determined to be non-hazardous (Ricketts, Torres, Moulton, Wisconsin Elections Commission, etc.).
  • Under investigation by the FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and U.S. Capitol Police. Reports indicate 100+ letters may be in the mail system; 40+ members of Congress affected per press tallies.

Kimi is shockingly good at research specifically, I tend to avoid short things because it's relatively slow, but for long research things like this Kimi does well as it will do a really long chain of searches and deep dive with secondary searches and multiple passes over information, the output for this took 4-5 minutes of work and at least 15 steps which is quite a long time. I have it running a weekly list of "ruling class who have died" (bit more involved than that as a prompt) because I'm keeping an eye out for suspicious circumstances. Most of your post was pretty good as a prompt, what fed in was:
