Stop these ideas. America means the whole continent not USA. Trump just does not get what he is saying.

In English, "America" means the United States of America. Trump's talking in English to Americans, so as much as I hate to give that fucker credit for anything good, he's actually got the usage right.

English-speaking countries don't have a continent named "America." We've got seven continents - Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, Antarctica, North America, and South America.

one of our favorite bullshit to argue about (when we couldn't think of anything else but wanted to keep both our arguing and bullshit skills sharp) was how many continents there are, what they are, and why.

this isn't English it's US English, it's not a part of the language outside of the US.

Ask a Brit where America is. They'll point to the US. Same with an Australian. Same with someone from Ireland. Same with a Canadian. Same with a South African.

But all that's besides the point. Trump is (unfortunately) an American and he's speaking to Americans. So even if it was just part of US English, he'd still have the usage right.
