    Middle East is a colonial and eurocentric name but I admittedly haven’t seen any alternatives for it in wide use. Would just West Asia be a better alternative?

    What we call Middle-East is part of South West Asia + Egypt (I'm not sure why) (+ Turkey?). Alternatively we can also use Arabia (or Arabian Peninsula) + Levant instead of the vague South West Asia
