Between this and the iOS 17 standby feature, it seems like Apple likes the idea of displays showing information instead of just being black. Not really sure why they wouldn’t just make this a macOS feature though, dumb to limit this to some sort of smart monitor instead of just using the computer it is connected to.

This is gonna work wonderfully with OLED screens which love persistent elements being displayed all the time

LCDs also suffer from burn in. As long as you move the content around a bit it should be fine

Just saying as someone who has had a few OLEDs screen retention is permanent and easy-ish to do with bright panels.

As long as the graphic moves every once in a while it should be fine (as far as I know)
