More than one person has told me their class consciousness started with an Ant's Life.

    Yes.

(I only saw Antz but not A Bug's Life, and just sort of assumed Antz had the more subversive social message because it wasn't Disney.)

Definitely. The collective workers rise up against the militaristic ruling class, after, of course, those rulers attempt to murder them all for their 'glorious future'. Unfortunately, Antz and A Bug's Life also share something else in common. Both star sex pests in the leading role.

Idk I didn't see these movies, it might be thanks for the correction if so.

I am already very enthusiastic about, uh, nevermind.

I find it neat from a psychological standpoint the way your brain merged the two titles into one.

This is like saying you learned about the late Renaissance era of history, and marine biology, from watching The Little Hunchback of Notre Dame.

or perhaps their interest started there as a child, causing them to study further later? that doesn't sound like a crazy statement

I meant more so that learning about social issues from corporate children's entertainment might not be the highest-fidelity way to do that, and that combining the two names into one "story" means that it's like the lessons learned from "Disney-PIxar's Antz' Life" might be jumbled a bit.
