The fact that this is even a close race is incredibly worrying.

On one hand you got the jovial but aging left wing president who has already been president for 12 years (non-consecutive).

On the other hand you have the textbook definition of nepotism, the son of a corrupt politician who tried a coup and failed. Said son is also known to be corrupt and had multiple scandals, but just because he's right wing, half the country supports him...

Why is it that right wingers always scream about accountability and rule of the law, yet when it comes to their own candidates their heads are so far up their own arse, even the world's worst surgeon could do a simultaneous appendectomy and root canal with a single slice of a scalpel?

Why is it that no right winger, regardless of their country or location, can see the dead obvious hypocrisy? And how is it that people would still elect someone who tried to forcefully remain in power after he's been democratically told to get fucked?

You have to remember that with conservatives, the hypocrisy is a feature, not a bug. This appears to be universal, not just a part of conservatism in the United States.

Disclaimer: I haven't voted for a bolsonaro and never will

Lula is no saint and has been involved in one of the biggest corruption scandals this country ever had. His only positive is that he isn't bolsonaro

one of the biggest corruption scandals this country ever had

It was the largest one in history until the one from Flavio Bolsonaro... And on what was the largest one until that famous one got caught.

And also in coordinating a criminal voting ring in the Legislative

Still both of them added up don't come anything close to the Bolsonaro's one, and the Bolsonaro's father coup attempt was way more explicit.

Want he cleared? While operation carwash was real, it became a political weapon doing US style overcharging shakedowns?

Nah. They just decided the evidence couldn't be used but the evidence was real, like having a video of a murder but the judge said the camera was illegal. He also admitted on video of making use of the house that got a free renovation.

At best his entire party is corrupt but he won't condemn them, at worst he is extremely corrupt

Why didn't the left move to a different party or at least a new leader?

Brazil has multiple parties. I myself voted for another left candidate. The problem is that everyone has been brainwashed into only considering 2 candidates

That sucks, I think presidential systems tend favor 2 parties/coalitions, is there any chance continuous elections between 2 bad choices could lead to that kind of reform, I think most presidential weakenings were in former USSR countries as they understandibly didn't want to have presidents getting too strong.

Believe or not bolsonaro (father) is from a party that wasnt one of the main 2 so there is a chance of breaking the duopoly, unfortunately as you can see, that doesnt always improve the situation (its just a different duopoly now)

Many such cases, you can vote in a new party in a 2 party system (the Two round system is better for this than FPTP), but it's next to impossible to break the 2 party dynamic that is sort of inevitable when you have a strong president, almost everyone is going to have to pick a side.
