“You haven’t asked me one fucking positive question,” he said. “All of this. What about this? What about that? What about that? What about this? All negative.”

The president had been asked about whether Mitch McConnell should resign from the Senate because of his health issues. Trump responded by indicating that videos of McConnell struggling were a “disappointment to a lot of Republicans,” before noting that “Sleepy Joe gave pardons to everybody.” He then exploded, questioning why they were asking about the White House renovations so much, and griping that they hadn’t asked him about Venezuela. Time pointed out that they talked about Venezuela at length earlier in the interview.

“I don’t understand. I’m sitting here. I’ve done all this stuff,” Trump said. “I took the White House and made it beautiful again.”

Here's a positive question about his deeds that a reporter should ask:

Mr. President, how good did it feel to rape children?

I wish this guy could have been removed from the life he was living in his 20s and gotten some serious help. Maybe practiced Buddhism and become a monk to lay bare and put to rest all his demons, rather than continue to gorge them. Were I a better person, I could probably feel sympathy for whatever soul he has left, tortured continuously by his crushing insecurity. But I'm not, instead relishing his realization that he'll eventually die completely and utterly unloved by the entire world. It's unfortunate he'll probably try to feed his demons before that happens with as many human lives as he can. Wonder if anyone will resist his insane order to use nuclear weapons when it eventually comes before January 2029.

Erroneous beliefs. There is no soul, first of all (if I'm wrong, the burden of proof is on you).

But even if you weren't being literal, this man is empty inside.

The tantrum at not receiving any positive feedback hinted to me there's something in there that cares about recognition and appreciation. I'm no scholar of the human soul, but something about that response signaled to me there is a broken and tortured consciousness down there seeking validation through outside admiration. If the shell were entirely soulless, I would have expected indifferent disdain. Instead, I sense a frustrated child trying to win attention from his parents. The absence of adoration is under his skin and eroding the foundation of his entire ego as he senses the finality of his existence approaching. Should have stuck to being a rich private citizen, where the fawning was easy to buy and criticism easy to ignore.

I'm not sure narcissists really get better. Is that a thing? I don't really know.

In my experience, none of them have the self-awareness, seemingly, to seek out self-improvement to end their narcissism. And why would they? They've been operating that way all their lives, and some people are just users of others, so why would they want to fix something they figure is just a way of life? And that's people without billions allegedly to their name.

In many cases it just seems to fly under the radar. Siblings, co-workers, parents, kids, spouses - they all eventually figure out there is something "wrong" with the narcissist, and that it is not actually them at fault. The narcissist usually perfects the art of gaslighting others into thinking they are imagining stuff.
