President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday establishing America.gov, an AI-powered government portal through which users can access public services and search thousands of federal databases.

The order, “Streamlining access to government services through America.gov,” establishes the website and directs all agencies to integrate their public-facing services into the platform within 90 days.

Trump signed the order hours before he is set to meet with top AI executives in a lunch meeting at the White House.

It directs senior officials, including those at the National Design Studio, to establish the website as a single access point for Americans seeking federal government services such as passport replacement. NDS was created by an August 2025 executive order and is led by Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia.

“With America.gov the federal government no longer stands in your way, it only stands at your service” President Donald Trump said at an event announcing the website.

He added, “we’re simplifying it. We’re glamorizing it. We’re making it what it should be.”

The website says it is sourced from “official U.S. government resources” and prompts users to use the platform as a chatbot, asking questions about anything from applying for a passport to information about national parks.

Administration officials celebrated the launch, touting it as the start of a new relationship between the government and its people.

“We’ve become used to a government so big it makes the citizens feel very, very small,” Trump said. “But with America.gov, the entire U.S. government will fit in the plan.”
