Responsibilities.

They're tough to avoid without living a lower quality of life. They come at you fast and consistently somewhere between age 15 and 35, depending on how much money your parents are able and willing to share with you.

    You missed the point completely. Their comment wasn't about not being able to make the memories, but about when you already are in the moment, you should not be thinking about how in the future you'll wistfully look back on this moment, but rather, just enjoy the moment.

    I don't know about you, but I view the acknowledgement that this moment will be a core memory for me moving forward to be one of the highest forms of enjoyment I can have. You can have that thought while simultaneously participating in the moment itself - it's not an either/or thing.

    Sure, I wasn't arguing about that, just explaining what that person meant. They probably thought that a thought like this takes you out of the moment, instead of improving it. I think for most people, a thought like this makes the moment worse, not better.
