Isn't this ignoring the actual obvious problem which is: you can't actually replace employees with AI?

I feel like I'm going nuts. I have a small consultancy with a half dozen employees. Sure Gen AI might give us a 10% efficiency bump in the future with the current tech at it's ideal implementation, which remains a decade away IMO.

I'd love for some automaton to be able to do my job but that's just not my reality.

    Additionally, the jobs AI can adequately replace are often the jobs companies use to train and vet people beginning their careers. Put another way, you don't get any senior devs if you replace all your junior devs with chatbots.
