He was undoubtedly a reactionary. Losurdo's book on Nietzsche describes how he's a reactionary. If I were to explain his worldview in a nutshell, it's that culture requires that there be a permanent underclass for the cultured aristocracy to oppress; there is no culture without this. Because of this, socialism, along with any strain of thought that leads the aristocracy to take pity on those beneath them, must be combatted
