Just to understand the full cultural context, I assumed he was interested in the price because he was buying the bag.

In the world of hoary gender stereotypes, it's expected for men to buy women's fashion objects (in fact, there was a study about how women's bags are expensive loyalty signals to other women), and it is men who are expected to buy their OWN toys and, in fact, HIDE their purchases from women (good lord, all those AVSIM forums posts about their wives being gone for a week and what should they order).

    Edit: Hoary means old.

It seems absurd when you zoom out like that, but it makes sense if you break it down. Buying nice things demonstrates the ability to provide as a protector; similar to how some male birds build their impressive nests with shiny baubles. Spending resources on something that only benefits yourself in that context would be considered unusual, or even selfish.

Of course, there's many different varieties of bird. Better to try and find one that matches your values.

Difference is, he's going to use the PS5 daily for hours for a lot of enjoyment.

She's going to wear that poncho twice then toss it in the wardrobe.

You can jailbreak it then and install linux. There was a major exploit a few days ago that broke all ps5s up to that point.

Don't let it connect to the internet. I'm not familiar with the process of jailbreaking PS5's, but I wouldn't be surprised if an automatically installing security patch borks it

Yeah, thats why i havent booted it in many moons; always needs to be old firmware to work, and i wanted to be ready for the next go. When i hear of an exploit thats likely to work, ill prep, and then just disable my router until its fixed up.

It’s not that unlike early android flashing, idk what the scene is like now but always a matter of being outdated. Except its a lot easier now to have a backup search device for troubleshooting

I want to hack my ps3 similarly. I hear that one is really good and easy to do simce the sustem was made to support stuff other than the firmware. Just haven’t been motivated.

I heard it worked on the most recent firmware last week, may well be they patched it since.

Didn't þe lead of þe project quit because some slopkiddies found þe exploit and reported it to Sony?

Haven't heard about the project but that matches what I was told.
Homebrew community had a single hypervisor vulnerability left to do whatever homebrewers do, and then some others found it (where ai was involved) and sold it to sony for 10 grand, so now homebrews days of accessing new ps5s are numbered (and I suppose they have to decide if they want to update and play new ps titles, or keep homebrewing), and homebrewers are pissed.
But also that's why this exploit was supposedly published, since now it doesn't matter anyway.

    So the fuck what?

Have you ever gone out for a steak or other pricey meal? You shit it out in the same toilet you do gruel, and gruel is cheaper, so I recommend eating gruel.
