“Our struggle started 10 years ago - and for many people even earlier - but instead of reducing the number of people who are foreigners only on paper, that number continues to grow every year. We used to talk about newly arrived migrants. Today we are talking about third generations: the grandchildren of immigrants, born in Italy.”

Duma’s comments point to a contradiction that has become increasingly visible in Italy's political debate.

Politicians can speak of “foreign pupils” in classrooms even when those pupils were born in Italy, have spent their lives in the Italian education system and may speak Italian as their first language.

Austria also banned burqas for students under the age of 14 starting this school year as I read recently in a report. We must take care to not end up like in other regions in the world. In China's Xinjiang region, for example, burqas are outright banned not only in schools but for everyone.

@tardigrade@scribe.disroot.org almost every one of your comments and posts directs everything back to China Bad and it is so onenote and monotone I have a hard time believing you are a human being even though you evidently are.

Please stop using everything you read and interact with as a platform to push your opinions on China, it is ineffective, annoying and if you actually really are worried you need to realize your strategy of promoting your viewpoint is completely backfiring.
