idk man it’s bleak. It’s like there is no fight in the people, they think fighting is just voting for the latest DSA Democrat and are completely unprepared for the horrors awaiting us in the coming decades. The only off ramp I realistically see is a communist movement birthed from the discontented workers when the Ai bubble -Great Depression 2.0 hits us in the face. This movement is only possible if we prepare for it. If you are reading this right now of in America I think we only really have about 12-16 years before the death camps & draft papers. This is our last chance to avoid all of it, how we educate agitate and organize in this short short window.

Hell, even if we come close as the German revolution did and fall short we still have a “GDR” to look forward to when America collapses after WW3. But still only if prepare sufficiently now.

I’m sorry for the dark post, get organized if not already.

Unfortunately I pretty much agree. If the U.S. capitalists have their way, we will all be ruled by capitalist-funded superintelligence, which will ensure U.S. dominance forever and the suppression/execution of the now-unnecessary former working class. All I can say is that we should improve ourselves, study up, try to organize in the US, and if that doesn't work, fuck off to China or some other AES country so we can at least help save everyone else in the world. My condolences to any of the Americans who insist on staying when that time comes.

There are only 2 ways the worker-capitalist contradiction can ever be solved:

  1. communism, where the abundant fruits of automation are distributed evenly among all, ala fully automated luxury communism
  2. exterminism (from Peter Frase’s book Four Futures), where the capitalists finally fulfill their dream of automating everything and can genocide all the unneeded workers (with robot soldiers and whatnot).

It’s quite important we bring about revolution before option 2 becomes viable.

We have a maximum of maybe 50 years before the capitalists work out all the kinks in their super-intelligence dream. Maybe the collapse of the U.S. empire will stop this, or maybe not. It is all hard to say.

    This is marketing by AI-companies, it will never exist.

    AI will improve, and it will be used for horrible tings, but there will also be open source models which will be accesible to all (Chinese open source models are winning atm). In the same fashion: the invention and spread of railway technology helped the capitalist class and state, and was used to their advantage, but also:

    One thing I am confident on is that the capitalists will never have superintelligence because the means to create that is beyond what the capitalist mode of production can do. It's like asking feudalism to make the cell phone. We're out here squeezing water out of a silicon stone.
