That's not comparable in my opinion as there are too many factors in today's Europe that haven't played a role in Slovenia of 1992. The author speaks of the U.S. influence, which is perfectly rights, but we must not forget that the threats for democracy in Europe comes not only from the West. The European far-right is also heavily supported by Russia and China that aim to destabilize societies and sow division.
