Dude - if this happens again - I always tucked the string around my cervix. Like so the pointy end was pointing back up inside me. I never felt it once it was settled and it didn't stab my partner. The doctors will say "I can cut it shorter" but that's a bad answer, what happens then when they go to remove it? And it's still stabby but then you can't tuck it around.

IUD is great when it works - safer than tying tubes or vasectomy AND it's reversible.

And WTF? Aren't most women like 4-5 inches long inside? I'm tall and presumably have a little more length in there but have gotten cervix punch by average guys just a bad angle.

    I appreciate the pro-tip! I'm fixed now and she's had the IUD removed, so hopefully someone else in our position finds this info, because I think it would have really helped us.

    Birth control is such a mess, and it seems like there are better ways that are kept from us, as if those in control would prefer we all be breeding for some reason...
