Am I the only one who feels this is a manufactured outrage? I don't listen to either Pink or Ed, but there is so many other issues to be outraged about. Or are people just channeling their anger towards Ed.

All the reactions just seems out of proportion to me.

    You're probably not the only one. I'm sure there's plenty of folks who either support or deny the genocide who feel the same way.

    Having said that, I disagree with you. To give an analogy, imagine that Macklemore had said something along the lines of "the holocaust is a bad thing, and the jews, Poland, France, etc deserve to be free" and then got kicked off the tour. The backlash would've been immense. There would be calls for cancelling the tour, and rightly so. It would be completely backwards to kick Macklemore off the tour, and people would wonder if Sheeran was some kind of neo nazi. Nothing manufactured about that.

    The only difference here is the target of the genocide and the countries being invaded. But denying it or supporting it, or harming people for speaking up about it is equally terrible.

    My comment has nothing to do with the genocide. It has to do with fact that to me it's such a strong reaction and now being fed by the media, that it feels manufactured. Like some distraction tactic from all the real shit that is happening. To me, I don't understand why everyone is just piling on. It seems disproportionate. Or people using this situation to target their anger about other issues.

    To be clear it is the reaction that feels controlled outrage, not the cause of the issue.

    Just look at the Reddit /all main page and more than 50% are all posts about Ed.

    Do you feel like the same reaction would be equally manufactured if Macklemore was talking about the holocaust? Because to me in either case the outrage feels like a very normal reaction. Sheeran's doing the exact opposite of the right thing, with the context being one of the worst crimes that a group of people can commit.

    And the media reporting in this seems part of the normal manufacturing consent operation, right? "Antisemite kicked off of tour, antisemitic supporting groups follow suit" fits zionist framing perfectly.

    Genocide isn't real. Got it.

    We're privileged not to have to be living it day after day. We're privileged to be able to scroll on our phones and ignore news that makes us feel icky.

    So many others aren't. Silence is speech and Ed's choice to speak on behalf of Israel's judeofascist government is and ought to be news.

    Like, for real bro... What the hell are you even saying with your complaint?
