Went to demo the fence to save money on a new one, only to find screws of all diameters, lengths, and driver types. Some I swear were alien technology. I wanted to save the materials but I just rented a bobcat and tore it all up.

My garage and basement have 6 different sets of cabinets for storage. The electrical... Ugh, I've mostly got it fixed now, but it still needs updating. They converted a pantry into a bathroom with only fake ventilation. They clogged a vent to a bedroom with towels to save on heating/cooling because it had the door to the attic (still haven't fixed this one yet).

I dread the next DIY bs I stumble across. And I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

lol that sounds pretty bad. It's hard to say which is the worst thing done to this place... maybe the fact that he lowered the roof after a fire from an actual 2 storey house to a 1 1/2 storey, and completely built over the porch (porch roof and all, which is still up there under the rest of the house. The porch doesn't even have a proper foundation and he added a lot of weight to it, so now that corner of my place shifts with the seasons, making my front door jam sometimes, and pop open on it's own other times.

When he died nobody knew for a while after, so at least I did get new flooring out of the deal. Problem is whoever did the flooring wasn't much better at carpentry than he was.. :/
