It’s usually the people wearing “kill your local pedophile” shirts/bumber-stickers that are the ones making hating pedophiles a little too much of their identity to degrees of suspicion. I’m not saying “all”. But, there is definitely this self hatred or overly correcting defensive dynamic going on.

so when i lived in Utah, there was this "porn kills love" campaign. you could pretty easily tell everyone who wore a shirt for it was either a wife who was shaming their husband or a husband being shamed for watching pornography. the whole thing was pretty gross. it had the same flavor as the anti-CSA stuff the statesian republicans are doing now, too. "i'm wearing anti-porn shit so obviously i don't watch porn. just don't look at my web history" has the same flavor as "i wear anti-trafficing shit so obviously i have never trafficked children. just don't look in my basement"
