Sure, in the exact same way it’s a skill to order food and manage to get what you wanted from your server.

And, arguably, you don’t need to know the first thing about “AI” to use it to do a great deal of things extraordinarily badly and having no idea how badly you are fucking everything up and neither does the “AI.” It’s a tool for building incompetence, failure, and reliance, not productivity.

You can’t vibe saw a pierce of wood into a cabinet, you have to know exactly what you’re doing at all times. You can also build the exact same cabinet by doing the same thing as you did before. It is a skill, the woodworking tools are tools only in the hands of someone who knows what to do with them. Every interaction with an “AI” is guess work on both ends, and the results aren’t repeatable. It’s not a tool, it’s a shitty attempted at building a machine so that the oligarchs can remove you from the equation entirely. It is the complete antithesis of a skill, it actively robs you of knowledge and experience, you are the tool for the “AI”, not the other way around.

And again, a computer = / = an “AI.” A computer is a tool, “AI” is asking someone else to use that tool for you. It’s as much a skill as commissioning a piece of bad art or paying someone to build your deck wrong. “AI” is not a tool, it’s a shitty contractor that you keep insisting is good even though you call them out to fix the exact same issue every week.
