Bricks are not laid in a single layer like that unless the wall is exceedingly short (serpentine wall as a fence) or unless there is a structural backing like an interior load-bearing non-brick wall. And most all-brick walls in a structural capacity (meant to carry the weight of a structure) are dual or triple walled, depending on the height of the structure and the load bearing requirements. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] DaGeek247@fedia.io 3 points 17 hours ago (1 child) A couple bricks missing won't break the wall down quick enough to matter, especially if it's there, just not mortared in all the way. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 23 points 17 hours ago I think he's saying that for a wall like that, if you pulled out a brick and looked through, you'd just see more bricks.
