Honestly I’d rather this than deal with those smarmy fucks in the White House.

You can’t trust a word they say, as evidenced by literally everything these last 10 years.

I’m done with the US. I don’t care anymore. They’re the most self centred egotistical people on the planet, and I hope that as a country they can learn how their new favourite pastime of ruining friendships and relationships damages themselves the most. But they’re a nation run by abusers and takers, with no concept of mutual benefit anymore.

It’s sad, and difficult, and painful. But that’s what an abusive relationship is.

We treated each other as brothers not very long ago. Though that’s hard to imagine with today’s discourse.

Somehow equating Trumps own personal trade war beef with Canada and the average American person’s opinion of Canada as if every American individual is personally causing this is really nonsensical. Literally no one is out there advocating for starting shit with Canada. The president’s supporters support him, they don’t actually care what it is that he does, nor if he changes his mind 5 times this week. Everyone who isnt stupid enough to blindly support him doesnt want any of this to be happening.

So tell me again how this is an issue between Canadians and the actual American population?

They elected him twice, and no one in Senate or Congress is trying to stop him, least of all the Democrats.

Democrats are now so useless they have replaced the word useless. "This BMW turn signal is Democrat."

    They elected him TWICE.

Until it's proven that they rigged the voting machines or something, this is what Americans as a whole asked for.

I get that's not 100% of Americans, but for the rest of my life I cannot trust that Americans won't rip up any deal and try to do whatever the fuck they want to my country. I know lots of decent good hearted Americans, but the voters and the US government are the problem, and I don't see how this relationship can ever go back. Over 10 years is a long fucking time to have been dealing with this shit and it's quickly getting worse and worse.

As a Canadian, I completely understand that. And I 100% sympathize with the American population that does not support him. However, in a country where a “leader” who is “democratically” elected becomes the figurehead of that country, it becomes very difficult to separate “him” from the American population. In the world’s eyes, “him” is the U.S.A. So, when we see “him” wanting to make Canada the 51st state, “him” thinking he is entitled to Greenland, “him” trying to cripple Cuba, “him” deciding Americans should be in charge of the Strait of Hormuz, it’s kinda’ hard to look at the US and say, “yah, but that’s not the American people, that’s just “him”… Unfortunately for you, He IS the American people. You have my sympathies.
