They do not think, at least not as we know it. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 1 point 1 week ago (1 child) Rocks don't think. I'm getting sick of these "anything less intelligent than the average human doesn't think" hyperbolies. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago (1 child) Rocks don't think. As far as we know... It's not about intelligence, there are plenty of intelligent people who believe a lot of stupid bullshit. For most Flat Earthers, it's more an issue with their ability and willingness to reason in combination with "objective" self-awareness. Obviously it's impossible to be completely unbiased, but you have to at least want to be. I'd argue that if someone's thinking consistenly leads to demonstrably false conclusions, it's fair to say they're not doing it right. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 1 point 1 week ago (1 child) You can't choose not to think. Your mind is always thinking. There are subconscious parts of your brain thinking to make your heart beat and your lungs breathe. Everyone is thinking, including flat earthers, including earthworms. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago (1 child) You can't choose not to think. I didn't say you could. I didn't even say Flat Earthers are choosing to think poorly, just that belief in Flat Earth is evidence of unsound reasoning. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 1 point 1 week ago (1 child) Yeah, I know, it was Diddly. Dunno why you chose to reply to Me of all beings. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago There's no "L" in Diddy, I didn't even know he was a Flat Earther! Definitely a good example of someone with unsound reasoning abilities though, truly a bad thinker. I didn't choose to reply to you, I chose to reply to your comment. That You were involved was merely happenstance. permalink fedilink source parent
