Ahh yes, 1945, when a huge portion of the adult population carried battery powered vacuum tube radios around in their pockets.

    No, but there were radios everywhere in homes, shops, cafes, bars, etc, and wireless telegraphy was near instantaneous. Newspapers with 'extra extra read all about it!' Would have hit the stands within hours. So yes, within 48 hours of Hitler's death people absolutely knew that the fucker was dead.
