I once had a concept for a character, a childcare robot whose primary directive is "ensure the wellbeing of children." This gets them into trouble because their programmers mistakenly prioritized this directive over "obey the law," which leads to them doing things like stealing food and medication from stores and breaking into buildings to give orphans a relatively safe and comfortable place to sleep. The point, of course, is to show that capitalist society is indifferent at best and hostile at worst to its own kids.
