El-Sayd's election night in Michigan will be interesting. The primary challenger he beat was a CIA-AIPAC dem and won by like a .3 margin against the R primary winner in 2024 and current challenge (who is also AIPAC).

The narrative is that you need the centrest to win in a state that could go either way because that's who's going to reach the swing voters.

If he gets a blow out by like 4 or 6 points in the "purple"-est of states then it is illusion shattering on the idea of a linear political spectrum. After all, a right wing convert isn't going to go through a political evolution through being a lib to wanting an end to the cruel excesses of capitalism. Libs are not cool! They're not 50% of the way to cool. Eventually between AOC, Ilhan, and crew alongside Mamdani catching fire, the idea that doing things is not the political poison it has been touted to be.

Of course, if he loses we get 20 more years of left bashing and votebloo

I'm not defending swing voters. You think I'm here suggesting we reform capitalism or something? But that's what the conversation is going to look like if you go out and talk to libs.
