interestingly my grandparents who lived in a socialist state worked in a factory and they brought their child (my mom) around a lot and i myself visited my moms workplace a lot so the industry part of things never seemed horrifying to me.
i think that this type of fear feeds into anti communist ideas because many people associate the socialist states with factory work
