Calling flotilla members "self-appointed Western spokespersons for Palestine" is wild

[-] mistermodal@lemmy.ml -5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

But feel free to explain why doing the No Kings march with boats is good just because the Israelis made fun of it, so we have to disagree with them or whatever. Wouldn't you laugh if you had a bunch of people locked up in your house, everyone in the world knew, and the town threw a parade outside your house to try and stop it, without laying a finger on you? You'd think you were a god.

No, that's not even far enough. The parade sends in someone to be captured to show you're bad, because they don't care about your current victims. The reality is more insane than this fable

No Kings was a march without any demands supporting the establishment. Not every march or demonstration is "No Kings". The flotilla was a boat with actionable goods and aid opposing the establishment.

Do you know what the point of a protest is?

Yes, I just told you what the point of "a protest" (liberal nonviolent activism but pretending you did a Yemeni million man march with actual firepower backing it up) is. The point of this protest is to walk into the serial killer's house and give each child one oreo cookie.

This is exactly the problem with you people lining up to bash China, which actually provides substantial material support to Cuba and the Axis of Resistance, in spite of not following your demands to unlaterally sanction every single country that could provide resources to Israel. You prefer the one yacht full of morally pure discourse stewards dropping off one care package. The Israelis can even drop off care packages. Why do they do that, if it risks stopping the genocide?

Are you going to continue to ignore the elephant in the room? That the first people I heard this from were BBC, New York Post, Zelensky, Gunther Fehlinger, and the usual gobsmacked liberal? What does this say about Yvonne's evidentiary standards and political priorities? She ties the Ukrainian cause to the Palestinian cause. Just like Abby Martin on the first day of the special military operation. Would you ever in your life bother to remember something important like that?

Except there's people in jail for sabotaging Israeli arms factories and other actions which they were inspired into doing by protests and other actions.

Well that was corrected, they're appointed by the legality of their nonprofit organizations, and by social media companies which place them at the forefront, leading to incessant reposts. Have you not noticed that these are the only people that the Reddit turbolibs on here can tolerate? I assumed you were playing into it.

It's not just the flotilla members. This is the preferred way to dance around the issue of actually condemning the resistance, which she (smartly) refuses to do, making her a good example of what is actually worse than being the most annoying repulsive lib in the world about it. By my reckoning she is just toeing the line to follow Gene Sharp's nonviolent activism playbook. If you've got any lingering sympathies for Chomsky (see community URL) you will absolutely love Mr. Sharp. Yvonne probably believes what she is doing is the only way to help the Palestinians on some level, just like the streamers convince themselves that making money off of the genocide as an entertainer is fine if they do charity.

I have a very consistent position on these disorganizers who make incendiary statements, or even violent provocations, without the ability to ever back them up, to free a single child from ICE or the giant hole in the middle of Israel where I assume they throw them all after they're done with them. All while telling said child, I will be your voice and put a stop to this, just raise your voice so I can make a little more money off it, as I am selectively allowed to use western social media platforms while you are banned and deboosted, you have no choice anyways (what a great bargain, nothing for your last cries of hope! liberalism is so cool). My position is they are very stinky

It is the least-substantiated part of the post, I will give you that. I don't want to start arguing about CODEPINK specifically since my point is that it's part of a mass production line. It actually blows my mind that nobody comments on the logos having the same design language. It's the color revolution playbook, and I don't mean "it's inverted". It functions the same way at home and abroad, seize on the petit boug, the educated professionals, the labor aristocrats. Get them out showing their support for Democracy™, then use that as a cover. Oh, what's that, these idiots actually started doing it themselves? You do this amazing thing called nothing. You don't send in the jackals. You don't do the Euromaidan false flag attack. Everyone gets tired of yelling and walking around with old people who don't even know why they came. They go home, and feel like an idiot for having participated in what they think was a political struggle. Just a bunch of dumbasses walking around asking for regurgitated worms to be plopped in their mouths again.

I'm more interested in what you think about the rest, if anything.
