If you had to survive there for a year with no outside support, would it be possible? Probably only if you were able to fish in the surrounding water? Would there be edible seaweed?

It's not far off the south coast of Iceland so fishing for sure. Probably also hunting wild birds if you have a shotgun.

I wonder if depending on what you're able to fish/hunt/harvest, if you'd be able to eventually start some type of ranch/farm of something native?

Growing food is going to be very difficult. Cold, salty air, not much sunlight. Soil looks very limited. Could probably get a little bit going with a heated greenhouse. But you'd almost entirely have to survive off of fish, which is fine. Liver gives you practically all vitamins.
