MODERATORS
Rogue Trader is near the top of my backlog. Has anyone here played it? How is it?
I'm only in act 2. So far it's been pretty good. It does a pretty good job of getting the 40k feel while also being approachable if you don't really know much about it. It feels like there is some replay value for different play styles and team compositions.
It's not really a negative, but because it's 40k the alignment system is a bit weird. It's imperium good (evil), chaos (extra evil), and iconoclast (less indiscriminate killing).
Don’t recommend for multiplayer. We were looking at it post BG3, but unless they’ve totally revamped it, two players are basically “sidekicks” and have very little ability to do things outside combat. We also had graphics performance issues, but that was a year+ ago and could have been related to co-op.
I played it co-op as well, and we had constant desync issues, like multiple times per hour. I hope they can fix that for their next game, because they do make decent games.
I’d say it’s a masterpiece. It really, really helped me to experience and truly understand more of the warhammer universe. Like the cherry on top of a cake.
Mildly important: I wouldn’t recommend this game to someone whom has not played and enjoys the CRPG genre, or turn based combat or knows nothing of the warhammer universe. Nope, this game is not for thee.
