There's never been a fictional US President as bad as the reality of Trump. And I include Lex Luthor from the Superman comics. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 10 child comments replies: [–] decolo@piefed.social 5 points 1 month ago I agree permalink fedilink source parent [–] SwingingTheLamp@piefed.zip 5 points 1 month ago Even Nixon's head as President of Earth ran a weirdly benign and relatively competent administration as President of Earth. Yes, because Futurama is a comedy, but with all of these fictional Presidents, I think many Americans have (or hopefully had) little concept of just how much of our stability and prosperity actually was due to the government. Fictional accounts of how badly a President can fuck the U.S. just wouldn't've landed as plausible with a general audience. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Klear@piefed.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 child) permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago (1 child) He can't run for President because he's not a natural US citizen! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Klear@piefed.world 3 points 1 month ago Don't blame me. I doubt he would kill more than 100 people while in office. More US citizens died to COVID than all wars, and Trump told people not to wear masks or quarantine. That alone got him on the death toll leaderboard. My uncle and cousin died after catching COVID at a superspreader event shortly after his speech. I bet Hannibal Lecter would never have even come close to killing my personal relatives. permalink fedilink source parent [–] ShellMonkey@piefed.socdojo.com 2 points 1 month ago At least Hannibal had a functioning brain that could maintain coherence. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Tooks@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago I don't recall Hannibal Lector favoring children, so... permalink fedilink source parent
