From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

if you're gonna pirate VST plugins, make sure you have all the essential windows dependencies installed (.NET Framework, Visual C++ Runtime off of the top of my head), but other than that it's mostly fine. ironically in some cases pirating things are actually the better experience on linux rather than buying the thing legit and trying to install it using hacky workarounds cause the devs of the software did hacky bs. heck i even pirated a vst just to listen to its keygen music. worth it
thats good to hear that its been generally a smooth process from the couple people talking about their experiences, i havent gotten around to it yet but i appreciate your perspective! might update here on how it goes
