If you are just purchasing used movies at discount prices, the of creator never gets that money anyway, so pirating has 0 effect on that.

Unless the people before you purchased them rather than pirated, as they also expected re-sale value.

Sure it benefits the reseller, I suppose. But it isnt helping the creator. Not that it matters a whole lot for big box movies
