Week 1 we are reading "On Interpreting a World" and Chapter 1: "The plan for Remaking the World."

This was a formative book for me. The descriptions of the fundamentally different nature of society and its people when they are united towards the common advancement of all will probably never stop being an inspiration and guiding star... It reminds me of this turn of phrase another writer uses, describing her goal as not merely providing for basic needs more effectively, but reshaping ourselves into "more human humans", capable of even greater degrees of love and care for each other.
I really love how in this first chapter she frames the idea of owning the means of production as owning the means of life itself. The idea that the richest people in our society own the means of our livelihood, that they get to direct and control our life with the power and wealth they hold, and what we seek to do is wrestle the control of our own collective lives away from them, is increadably powerful.
