The conservative party has as much to do with conservation as Nazis had to do nwoth socialism
Cthulhu, fhtagn!

National Socialism was a real thing, at least in so far as it stood between international socialism (the left) and monarchism (the right).
Most modern Atlantic state economies could best be described as some flavor of national socialism, even the profoundly fascist ones. The goal of the economic model is to enrich the (ethnically favored) domestic citizenry, largely at the expense of everyone else.
But modern conservatives hold the title entirely as an anarchonism. They aren't culturally, economically, or ecologically conservative in the least. A lot of that comes from the seizure of party organs by a mix of revolutionary theocrats and techno-utopian anarcho-capitalists.
The party of Lincoln, Roosevelt, and even Eisenhower is dead. They're not even in control of the same territory anymore, having swapped places with the Democrats during the Reagan Era.
Democrats would better fit the definition of conservative. Many of them are conservatives from the Bush Era. Republicans are fully in the thrall of a revolutionary campaign, even explicitly calling for Constitutional Convention and a full reimagining of the founding document.
