Week 1 we are reading "On Interpreting a World" and Chapter 1: "The plan for Remaking the World."

The paragraph relating to the middle class was really well put! I had an argument with a relative on how owning stuff (talking about private property, in this case, landlords) is a way to not only allow some to extract from others, but gives the illusion that the workers are able to escape their plight whilst in the capitalist system.
And it ties in well to the ideas of language and pronouns the intro talks about as well, how a person under capitalism wants to escape their plight, while in the USSR it was more about solving our (society's) plight.
Yeah, it's such a good deconstruction of individualism, and how it frames and changes the way we all think about ourselves and the people around us.
