Honestly, I'm just surprised they're even continuing the grift. Then again if all you had to do to make it look like you're doing anything was claim to be adding "stations" with absolutely no infrastructure around it, hell, why not?

I'm not even against the LV Loop in principle, I think it's useful to be trying and testing all sorts of stuff like this. The train gang knows it's stupid, but normies don't, and in the meantime at least a bunch of people are getting useful on-the-job training with tunnel boring machines.

But it is so crazy that evidently zero thought continues to go into the station design? Is there even anyone at the company who's job is to get the stations figured out? Or even just the basic "how do we load and unload passengers".

Ray offhandedly mentions in the video that obviously the ulterior motive is just to disrupt other transit options by sucking oxygen out of the room. But with the mention of some of the continuing funding sources, it makes me wonder if we're missing some sort of obvious government funding source that is keeping this project in the black. The whole situation makes way more sense to me if they have some sort of metric they need to hit on station count expansion, and that unlocks further grants, and so they're focusing on that with no regard for any other aspect of the project. It would track with Musk's other ventures: he seems genuinely good at identifying potentially untapped sources of government largess, and then building large companies to suck on it.

Ray says that the hotels pay for stations, but I wonder if they also do the design/or consultation for station design themselves.
