www.phonearena.com The warning every OnePlus owner ignored is reportedly becoming reality this week Polina Kovalakova 6 - 7 minutes

For months, we've been hearing about OnePlus' departure from international markets. The idea sounded too drastic to believe, and while the company pushed back against some of the early reports, it never fully put the speculation to rest.

But now, it appears that all those rumors may have been pointing in the right direction from Day 1. A new report claims OnePlus is set to announce its withdrawal from Europe and the US this week, delivering a major blow to fans. 'Never settle' may be about to settle

An

exclusive WinFuture report (machine translated) published on July 13, 2026, claims that OnePlus may soon become history in Europe and the US. According to the outlet, the company and its parent firm, Oppo, may announce the final decision this week.

In preparation for what has become an increasingly expected development, OnePlus is reportedly selling off its remaining stock from official retail stores and third-party merchants. Once all OnePlus products disappear from distribution channels in Europe and the US, there are reportedly no plans for a restock.

While WinFuture is a reputable outlet, known for sharing highly plausible tech leaks, the current report doesn't disclose the sources behind its claims. It also emphasizes that OnePlus reps haven't revealed any reasons behind this decision even during closed-door press briefings. How we got here

The first signs of trouble emerged back in January 2026, when we heard

reports of OnePlus preparing to scale back its international operations. The company was quick to deny the report, indicating business would continue as usual.

That reassurance didn't last long. In the months that followed, rumors regarding OnePlus' withdrawal from European markets resurfaced, with the company admitting it was reviewing its strategy for select markets.

Just a few weeks ago, an official OnePlus store in Germany started directing customers toward Oppo, indicating that the parent company might be expanding in Europe as OnePlus closes. What happens now?

While no official confirmation has surfaced yet, if OnePlus indeed announces its withdrawal later this week, upcoming OnePlus devices won't be available in the EU and US, while remaining stock will gradually disappear.

In fact, OnePlus phones are already becoming difficult to find through major retailers. OnePlus phones are currently unavailable at Amazon.com, while almost all configurations of the

OnePlus 15 and 15R are unavailable through OnePlus' official European and US stores.

But what happens for fans who already own a OnePlus phone or tablet? Supposedly, the company will continue supporting eligible devices, releasing both Android and security updates according to the official support schedule. However, online discussions paint a mixed picture of OnePlus' customer support, with some users reporting issues with repairs, response times, and overall service.

Not long ago, we reported that the company was

offering vouchers instead of repairing devices. Over at Reddit, fans are also complaining about a prolonged repair process that has left one owner with a new issue on their device.

Others have expressed concerns about OnePlus closing its student discount program and other community benefits, which further indicates the company may be actively preparing to exit some markets.

Finally!

When I first read the January report, I felt a profound disbelief. At the time, I still thought OnePlus was one of the most affordable flagship phone brands in the US, offering high-end specs while maintaining a relatively accessible price.

I was genuinely relieved when OnePlus pushed back against those early rumors, only to watch the situation become more complicated as time passed.

Fast forward to today, and my reaction is purely this: finally. I'm not happy about this decision, and I'll miss OnePlus phones, but at least the uncertainty can finally come to an end.

As far as I'm concerned, OnePlus was dead to me several years ago

I had a 7 pro, best Android phone I've ever owned by far (admittedly, the only flagship - it was the first phone I bought when I got a decent job that paid real money). The update from OxygenOS to ColorOS mad the phone slow as hell, leaving only custom ROMs as an option.

Now that's not too bad, except to unlock the bootloader, apparently you have to be on an exact OS version. Don't remember if it was 10 or 11. They have a helpful article with download links, except the links are now dead.

Ended up getting the correct files from some random dude's google drive after an hour of googling last time I re-unlocked the phone (for a while it was running stock OS again because I wasn't using it).

7 years later the phone's still working great, I replaced the battery since it became a spicy pillow and I want to keep an Android test device around... But it was a huge ordeal to get a custom ROM on it. And somehow once I did, it runs much smoother on Android 15 compared to the stock OS with 10 or 11 or whatever the latest was on it. OxygenOS was great, the phone was super smooth, ColorOS just ruined it hard.
