Seems like Microsoft is who should be supporting Windows. It isn't like Valve can fix Windows issues as Windows isn't open source.
Valve offering drivers and notes is what they are able to offer for someone else's proprietary product.
Microsoft support one of their own products? Crazy talk.
The dumbest part of the article is that the author seems to be blaming Valve for games that chose a kernel level anticheat that only works with Windows and consoles.
That isn't even a Windows issue. That is a publisher choosing an anticheat that has stupid limitations.
Funny enough, Microsoft is trying to stop kernel antivirus and anticheats due to CrowdStrike...
Well valve chose to release their product that runs their OS that doesn’t support what developers/publishers want, so yeah, that’s on valve.
Good luck personalizing Windows as much as Linux and then distribute it
What are you even saying? Valve chose to release a Linux OS. They need to make sure it can do what people want it to, or people won’t use it.
There is no way to run a windows kernel module on other fucking OSes, Valve can't do anything about it and there is no other good alternative, blame the fucking publisher not Valve

You think developers WANT to work with Windows?
Yes. Windows is amazing for developers. It has Linux built in to it so you can use Linux on it as well as Windows. Windows is the best platform for developers that aren’t Mac exclusive.
As a developer, fucking windows, the expirience is so ass and having to use a glorified virtual machine (WSL) is so bad tooo
As a developer, windows is better than any alternative.
What IDE on what OS is better?
I mainly use Zed(which is not really an IDE but who cares) and Intelij (only for Java and Kotlin tho), i think i had the best experience on Fedora, i am using windows tho because ma company says so
And what made that so much better than using Zed and IntelliJ on Windows?
I actually tried to use windows for dev work a few years ago and had an experience that couldn't be more opposite to your claims

I'm not going to spend time writing up my experience just for you to tell me it was my fault or it didn't happen. I have been on the internet for a bit now, I know this game. It happened.

You’re talking complete garbage. I’ve been a dev for 25 years. Mac and windows machines. Linux releases and hosting. Never run into any problems you’re pretending are common. Literally never.
