I don’t think that’s counterproductive to have a degree of skepticism over heritage foundation tied people, in any aspect. Working for a fascist organization does just make you less trustworthy across the board.
I don’t say that because I think Platner is good, or even that it actually was a manufactured psyop. Just that fundamentally there are more dynamics in play, and so weighing that risk is just part of critical thinking.
I mostly take issue with the people who dismissed it entirely out of hand because of that
there were also the accounts from other women who didn't have bad experiences with him, and while abusers hide their abuse and usually don't abuse 100% of the people they possibly could, you combine that with the heritage foundation shit (and remember the fox anchor overstating what al franken did) and it really undermined her case.
it also doesn't really need to be looked into very hard because he was already a nazi tattooed blackwater mercenary and that should've been enough for everyone to never support the guy in the first place.
Yeah I get that aspect. It definitely is possible that it could have happened. Just hard to say definitely given our position. The nice benefit of hating him already, beforehand, is that I can just shrug and say to throw him in jail for that too, if it’s substantiated lol.
