[Question] "Trending Search Suggestions" - greyed out (lemmy.world)

The option is greyed out, YET checked. I cannot change it at all.

How do I force Firefox to uncheck it? I feel like a boomer asking this, but...

I tried using the about:config to put the boolean of

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.system.trendingSearch.enabled

to false, but nada.

In that case I'm fairly sure that what I described is the issue: Qwant doesn't support trending search suggestions, so it's great out and doesn't do anything.

If you want to uncheck it, temporarily switch to Google, uncheck it, then switch back to Qwant.
