I like Grim (as one of the exceedingly few American journalists reporting the statements of our West Asian "enemies" verbatim and keeping things grounded) but he has a compulsion to step on rakes when it comes to domestic politics. Platner is a person I don't care about at all. A lot of awful people are dedicated to seeing him lose, a lot of naive but well-intentioned people think his political campaign is substantially consequential. People who know what private military contractors do question the judgement of somebody who would willingly choose that as a profession. Unfortunately. some people like Grim (and other people I would refer to as influencers rather than journalists) are committed to dive in front of every bullet lodged at this guy.

I don't mean to "shut up and dribble" the guy, but there are much more important things happening and you have DIRECT SOURCES. The jurisdiction of "press, power, and history of bullshit" is Nima and Adam's beat , and they would have made an incredibly well research episode by now if this mattered.

This is perfectly in line with the way he's been talking about the male loneliness crisis.
