So do I. Major nostalgia thing for me - my grandfather was a member for years, so a Lions Club fruit cake was my grandmother’s contribution to the season.

I got one for Christmas in 2025, and have just cracked it open. My god, so much cake. Please, take some

With pleasure. Thank you.

Can I have approx 67 degrees of the circle, heated up in the microwave and served with tinned fruit and cream.

Thanks! Hard to get a good fruit cake nowadays, but the Lions Club always comes through.

I lived with someone when I was at uni who made a truly glorious one

I am strongly in favour of the school that requires the fruit for a cake to be soaked in strong tea rather than in rum or brandy. I will, however, soak the fruit for a plum pudding in rum/brandy. Cake is different.

I make boiled fruit cakes , add booze later

Ooooh yum. That's a good method.
