[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 46 points 3 months ago (3 children) I...will....stay....strong. No playing before a year after release. 100% done and with mods. Already bought on all accounts... permalink fedilink source hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 28 points 3 months ago (4 children) I'm never usually an early access person, but Unknown Worlds has a proven track record. They've released two games from early access after a very open development period. Plus they fuck over Krafton if it sells well, so win win IMHO. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 28 points 3 months ago (2 children) Oh no, I don't worry they won't finish it. I worry playing half a game 5 times and starting again for every "new cup added" update 😁 Like I did with the previous titles. I just want a complete run "for the first time" this time. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 child) Well it's usually cheaper during early access. I got the game for $32, so you could just grab it and then wait for full release. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago (1 child) I really do not care about the price. I even wondered why it's cheap-ish at all. This game will most likely bring tons of fun hours like no other games do. Really worth every cent. Also i bought it on all accounts already, i will just try to restrain myself from installing or even playing....maybe...hopefully. :-) permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago Temptation intensifies permalink fedilink source parent [–] mursejoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago (1 child) I learned my lesson with Palworld. I won’t play games until full release because you invest time into a game and then a large update releases 6 months after I’m playing something else. Then you jump back in and have to relearn everything again! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago Exactly. Plus the "omg look at that!" Is gone. Subnautica had such awesome jaw-dropping moments and environments and especially aurally... I killed a lot of it by cutting the experience in pieces... permalink fedilink source parent [–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 7 points 3 months ago Aye, I remember trying subnautica on my friend's computer, and being happy enough with the game as it was then to buy it. That's still my 'test' for buying early access games: would I be happy if the developers literally died today and nothing more was done with it, OR is it less than $5 and I'm really happy with what progress has been made towards the game that I want? permalink fedilink source parent [–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago (1 child) I forgot who are the bad guys. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Goodeye8@piefed.social 15 points 3 months ago (1 child) Krafton. They pretty much tried to sabotage Subnautica 2 to make sure they wouldn't need to pay out 250 million to the development studio. It went to court and the judge pretty much told Krafton to suck it. It was such a stupid move that after the successful early access launch Krafton stock actually went down instead of up. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago Thanks for the refresher. That was a period when I didn't read much news and missed the details. So buying the game is okay then. :-) Will put it to wishlist now. permalink fedilink source parent [–] mrnarwall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago This is how I'm thinking about it. Plus, I can buy the game and play it once it's completed. There is no obligation to play it the second I download it permalink fedilink source parent [–] Deconceptualist@leminal.space 9 points 3 months ago (1 child) Good luck! I couldn't hold out and I hope I don't regret it too much. The game is already good but I'm trying to give useful feedback so it'll be even better for everyone later. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 months ago Who am I kidding....
