On wechat you need someone from the mainland to be your guarantor if you want to make an account abroad.
To me the benefit is that Chinese tech corporations aren't all tied to western intelligence by default, so it's better for me since I don't live in China, but some like Alibaba have already shown to be willing to play ball. And tiktok had already rolled over too before the US decided that's not enough and that it needed to be US owned too.
yea that's fair. I prefer chinese tech too i just wanted to mention that in case someone was going to spend money on it expecting to not be asked for id ever
